While some chiropractors expand their practices to include a range of ailments—from all kinds of structural issues to more holistic concerns such as wellness, weight loss, and more—my concentration has always remained on specific chiropractic procedures related to the back. Why?
Back care is the singular area in which chiropractors can be the most effective and predictable out of all types of medical practitioners.
Why Back Care Matters Most
Very early in my career, I witnessed the importance of maintaining a healthy, strong, dependable back and recognized the particular capabilities of a chiropractor to accomplish just that.
This is not to say that other practitioners cannot provide appropriate treatment for a person at other times—including even surgery in specific cases. Indeed, I will refer my own patients to other practitioners when I determine that what they offer is better suited for a specific issue.
That is why in my book, Hope & Help for Back Pain, I do not limit the discussion only to what chiropractors can provide. I also address several other modalities of healing, what their practitioners bring, and the right circumstances or right timing to try them.
When to Seek the Right Kind of Care
My intent is to educate readers so they know:
- When to seek medical help prior to chiropractic for your back pain
- When it is best to see a chiropractor
- When it is time to try a different modality of treatment—or perhaps leave one chiropractor and try another if you aren’t seeing results
- When it is best to try physical therapy and chiropractic together
- When you should consider surgery and bypass chiropractic
- When not to head into surgery but try chiropractic and/or other non-invasive therapy at the same time
- When to consider epidurals along with your chiropractic/therapy care
What Hope & Help for Back Pain Provides
Hope & Help for Back Pain is an easy-to-read book that offers a deeper understanding of when you should seek medical help for your condition. It also prepares you to make the right decisions at a doctor’s office—regardless of the type of practitioner you are seeing.
Remember: there is no better advocate for your well-being than yourself. You simply need some training. That is what my book provides.
You’ll find several images throughout the pages to better illustrate the concepts I explain, as well as integrated links to online videos I’ve specifically created for this book. These videos demonstrate some of the techniques and treatments I describe, as well as simple exercises you can do to strengthen your back so you won’t experience more back problems in the future.
Please note: the videos in my book are supplementary and not necessary to follow the information—it’s simply a visual tool for further clarification. My book can be purchased online or at my chiropractic office.
