Vertical Pneumatic Axial Disc Decompression, or VPADD, is a non-surgical, and non-invasive form of spinal decompression designed to effectively treat back pain. Not only does it relieve pain, but it works to heal any injuries or damage, restoring mobility and function to patients so that they can resume active lifestyles without pain.
Unlike traditional spinal decompression methods which work by using a computerized decompression, VPADD uses a pelvic harness to raise the patient’s body off the ground. By elevating the body off the ground, the spine is stretched, and pressure is released from the discs and nerves. This treatment allows the body to be gently manipulated into various positions to encourage discs to move back into place and allow nutrients to return to any damaged discs or soft tissues so they can heal and cushion your spine correctly.
In addition to treating back pain, VPADD has proven highly effective in the treatment of various conditions and injuries including:
- Acute pain
- Arm or leg pain
- Chronic pain
- Degenerative disc disease
- Disc injuries
- Herniated discs
- Lower back pain
- Neck pain
- Nerve injuries
Each treatment session typically consists of five 30-minute sessions per week for four weeks, followed by occasional maintenance sessions. Many patients report pain relief after the first session with continued relief and symptom improvement after more treatment sessions.
The length will depend on the patient’s unique condition. Your unique treatment plan will be determined during your initial consultation and we will work with you after your treatment to ensure your spinal stability.
