Yesterday I read an internet quote, “August.. is the Sunday of Summer” normally I would scroll past on to my usual fix of politics and Yankees stats but something made me pause on this one. At first glance, this is just Pinterest fodder for a coffee mug or a pink tank top that someone would probably toss in a drawer. The beauty of the internet is, however, that simple quotes can bring very big life lessons if you just take a little time to think.
Sunday is a busy time in my household as weekend leisure is replaced by the school and work week preparations. Sunday mornings are also my day of private meditation in the form of a long run. Sunday is both a beginning and an endpoint; the end of the weekend but the beginning of the calendar week. If you think about it, August and Sunday are quite related. August is the end of the season, the end of long days, the end of summer freedom, etc; but what begins in August? Perhaps a change in your health?
